You can now see what a notification template will look like in each channel, and send it to yourself, before a real incident goes out with it.
Previews that warn before sending
The preview on the right of the template detail page renders the message block by block. Native tables and Markdown tables are counted separately, and the footer shows the channel's format and the bytes used against its limit. A yellow notice appears above the preview when:
- the channel doesn't render Markdown tables, so recipients would see the raw table text;
- the content is over the channel's limit, so sending would fail, the message would be truncated, or a compact summary would be sent instead.
Built-in templates show a Built-in · Read-only badge. On a read-only template, the main button is Copy as new template. On a template you can edit, Edit is now Template settings, and Delete moved into More actions.
Send test
Send test in the preview header renders the editor's current content, unsaved changes included, for an incident you pick, and sends it for real:
- IM apps: to your own direct message, or to a group chat the bot has joined. WeCom apps send to a person only.
- Robots: to a robot address you enter for this send. It isn't saved.
- Email: to your account's email address.
- SMS and voice calls aren't offered.
The title starts with [Test] ([测试] for Chinese accounts), and the message ends with the template name and who sent it. Card buttons on a test message only reply that it's a test and don't change the incident. Each person can send 5 tests per minute. A template with a syntax error fails the test with an error, so you find it before a real notification hits it.
Native tables in Feishu app cards
Feishu app templates have a new Native tables switch, off by default. When it's on, GitHub-flavored Markdown tables in the template render as native table components in Feishu Card JSON 2.0.
Limits per card: at most 5 native tables, and per table at most 8 columns, 100 rows, 10 rows per page, and 2000 bytes per cell. A table that breaks a column, row, or cell limit falls back to a Markdown table on its own. More than 5 tables, or a rendered template over 30 KB, sends every table as Markdown. The preview explains each fallback.
Get started
Go to Flashduty console → On-call → Templates, open a template, and click Send test above the preview.
